# Supported clients

> Coding agents and IDEs that the Recallium installer connects on macOS, Windows, and Linux

The Recallium installer connects the coding agents and IDEs on your computer to Recallium Cloud. The clients it supports depend on your operating system.

## Clients by operating system

A check mark means the installer connects the client on that operating system. A dash means the installer does not offer it there.

* **Claude Desktop:** supported on macOS and Windows. Chats also need the Recallium plugin. See [Configure Recallium for chat apps](/guides/configure-chat-apps).
* **Codex CLI / Codex Work:** one entry in the installer covers both.
* **Continue.dev:** setup is manual. The installer shows the connection settings, and you add them to Continue.dev yourself.

<Note>
  On Windows, PowerShell can block the installer. See [Troubleshooting](/guides/troubleshooting#powershell-reports-that-running-scripts-is-disabled).
</Note>

## Check what the installer finds

To see which clients the installer finds on your computer, run:

```bash theme={null}
npx -y recallium install
```

The installer lists the clients it detects under **Found on this machine**. It lists other supported clients under **More IDEs / agents**, so you can connect a client that it did not detect.

## What the installer adds

For each client you select, the installer adds what that client supports: the MCP connection, Recallium guidance, and hooks. It shows what it will change before it writes anything.

Some clients ask you to authenticate the MCP server before first use. See [Configure IDEs](/guides/configure-ides).

To confirm that your clients are connected, run:

```bash theme={null}
npx -y recallium status
```

## Your client is not listed

Email [support@recallium.ai](mailto:support@recallium.ai) and tell us which client and operating system you use.
